About Catholic Widows and Widowers of North County
In 1992, four newly widowed Catholics formed an organization to provide support and friendship to others who had experienced the loss of their spouse. Since then the group has flourished resulting in an annual membership of approximately 150 members. Currently, the Catholic Widows & Widowers of North County has active members from 18 San Diego Catholic parishes located in the coastal and inland communities.
A welcomed camaraderie develops as our members enjoy a variety of social and religious activities. We keep our members informed with a monthly newsletter that includes a busy calendar of 15 to 18 activities. Our members choose the events they wish to attend. Our monthly general meeting/pot-luck and the Sunday Mass followed by brunch at a local restaurant are the most heavily attended events. Other activities on the calendar include dinners, concerts, dancing, happy hours, golf, bowling, theater, hiking and more.
We are a non-profit social group of friendly Catholic ladies and gentlemen. By helping to fill the void after the loss of a spouse, we are once again finding pleasure in our new life. We invite widows and widowers that are interested in meeting new friends while enjoying interesting activities, to join us. Over the past years, hundreds of widowed Catholics have enriched their lives by becoming CWWNC members.
